I usually wake up at 6...but that day it rained all night so I thought therez no point waking up early as I was gonna miss going to the ground coz of rain.......so I got out of bed at 8......as a usual practice I switched on the cd player and had a daily doze of punjabi music......it was raining outside ...nothing unusual abt it as it was raining after a long dry spell......the monsoons were finally here..... after I was done with my morning chores...I went outside in the balcony.......the downpour was heavy.....normally under such circumstances i prefer staying in the comforts of my room but it was different that day...I wanted to go out........and thatz wat I did........
Generally I have seen when it rains itz pleasant everywhere around......and ppl too r happy in the rain.........
So I finally stepped out of the hostel.......with Mr Ankush(P.hD. in history) ......I immediately realised that I am not wearing any cap and my specs already required a lot of cleaning coz of the rain...Ankush bhai was more intelligent in that regard...the specs should be equipped with wipers.........anyway...just outside the hostel.... the road had turned into a fast flowing river as v couldnt see the road.....just continuous flow of water..........V bravely stepped into it without caring about our sleepers and trousers..........and v began our gerri around the campus........in no time v were completely soaked.....I felt sorry for my cellphone but now I had no choice......at the university ground v saw a group of abt 20 guys playing rugby....there was lot of mud....a lot of water and a lot of fun...I really wanted to join in the fun but Ankush bhai said" paru humari umar yeh kaam karney kee nahi rahee hai" ,on normal dayz I would have agreed with Ankush bhai but today it was different.... I really wanteds to do something different....it was something about the day....but I submitted to Ankush bhaiz views.........and v carried on our journey arnd the uni........... there were guys zooming arnd on their 2 wheelers and cars......splashing water on all the by-standers who were cursing the "bigarrey hue larrkey" coz they didnt spare a thought for their clean and tidy outfits............v didnt mind any of it coz v were as it is enjoying the rain...by this time the rain intensified......v reached student centre coz Ankush bhai wanted to sip a cup of tea.......there were many fellow students present there who were enjoying the rain.....including a group of girls who were attracting all the attention coz of their water drenched outfits and coz of their antics...we met few fellow hostellers and started discussing abt the monsoons.....cricket....girls.....career...and just as the discussion was turning serious v moved from there to complete our tour.....after crossing the length and breadth of the university v decided to retreat bac to the hostel..........just as v reached bac to the hostel I saw Kenny ,Arjun and a Giant whom they called Coach Sir,I later found out that he was an instructor at the local gym, bodyscapes. They asked me for the tour arnd the city.......so I hopped in the sumo....Ankush bhai decided to stay back........so there I was in Coach Sir's Sumo with Arjun and Kenny and Coach Sir.....
V went arnd the city in heavy rain with punjabi music blaring.....the roads were jampacked wioth cars moving at snails pace.........v had the pleasure of seeing a maruti 800 floating coz of floods .........finally v managed to reach the sukhna lake......at the lake the scene was seen to b believed ....the lake was overflowing...it was difficult to figure out from where the lake actually started!!! the water was knee deep......I had to hold the sandals in my hand and had to b sure abt where I was landing my foot...... at the lake there were some army personnel who were trying to pull their boat out of the lake.......Kenny Arjun and Coach Sir volunteered to help them in their endeavour...... Kenny Arjun and Coach Sir r all 6 footers.....and then I realised how vertically challanged I am..........felt like a dwarf in their company......after helping the army personnels Kenny asked them if v could go uptill the light house which is in the middle of the lake..........surprisingly they gave permission to go!!! and v were ecstatic.......the light house is constructed right in middle of the lake and is an island..........the sight from there was breathtaking........we were jumping shouting and super charged......and just then Kenny spotted a snake...and in no time v were back at the edge of the lake..........Now v decided that v gonna take a swim in the pool of the lake club.........Coach Sir decided against it.....and then me Kenny and Arjun were maneuvering our way to the swimming pool....the water level was till our waist.......I was now holding not only my sandals but also my cellphone in my hand.....walking was an arduous task...the flow of water was completely sweeping us off our feet.......had v missed a single step that would have been the end of story as v would have submerged into the sukhna lake....such powerful was the flow..........finally v managed to reach the pool......v took off our trousers and v were in the pool...obviously v were not carrying any swimming costumes.......had the time of my life...those 20 mins were amazing.........to our utter surprise the pool water was crystal clear....the cleanest water that I have ever come across.... after exhausting ourselves in the pool v decided to go back......Coach Sir dropped us in sector 15.........Kenny and Arjun had brought bicycles from their home so they decided to drop me at the hostel on cycles.....I had a cycle ride after years....and man......it felt so good..........
as v were crossing the university ground v again saw guys playing .....this time v couldnt resist and v decided to play ........because of heavy rains.......there was less of mud and more of muddy water..........v decided to play soccer....the water was knee deep.....v had an amazing game........had so much fun.........it was impossible to kick the bowl but v could just scoop it............after playing for half hour v were completely exhausted....and decided to go back to the hostel..........had shower and then had lunch........all this time it was still raining...........stayed bac in the hostel and listened to some amazing collection of music...it was so much fun....in the evening had garam garam pakorraz and jalebeez............"normal is boring" I truly believe this now.........that day has been etched into my memory forever.............what a day.....

Waking up at six is a good habit. But it is better to listen to some good music when you wake up at six. Try that some time.
Nice to fun of heavy heavy rains. You should have taken your chances at rugby.
But good to know that you had fun. I miss Monsoons
