Hey Mausam,
How often have you heard people say,"india da kuch nahi ho sakda, population hee inni hai" , "iss desh da kee bannu, har level te taan corruption hai", " saara system hee kharaab hai", "dilli vich inniaan gaddiyaan hai pollution taan hona hee hai inna". Well I have been hearing these talks ever since I was a kid and I always believed that if we just change ourself that is more than enough coz we cannot expect others to buy our line of thinking coz everybody else have their own issues. But my self righteous attitude is taking a serious beating offlate. My ferrari's engine needs immediate overhauling coz itz polluting the enviornment like nothing else I have seen in recent times. It leaves behind a cloud of white smoke every morning when i switch on the ignition. Had I seen such a car on road I would have been the first to rebuke against the "most polluting car"(I may have gone to the extend of complaining) but in the present scenerio I have been a silent spectator of my car's continuous torment of the environment. Why am i not beahaving the way i expect myself to behave in such a scenerio?? well, the engine overhauling will push me back by 10,000 bucks and i am in no position to afford such an amount, so I will swallow my ego and shut my eyes every time I see my car spoiling the morning air and rationalise that "c'mon my car is just one of the million cars on delhi roads doing the same"
I have lost the moral right to question the wrong, coz I am patronising the wrong.
The lesson learnt from this incident is that" it is way too easy to comment on others but to actually face the situation is a different ball game altogether.I want my right to "question the wrong" .
Regards,
Ajj Kaim
