Hi Mausam,
The unpredictability of life has been apparent more than ever in the past few days than ever before.Vivek Kaushal,(Kachchu, as we always used to call him) got paralysed from the whole of right side.It was such a shocker! A perfectly healthy guy got paralysed coz of artery blockage at this age.It was/is hard to digest. The shock is even more greater coz Kachchu was one of us. If it can happen to him,it can happen to anybody.Coz of 100% blockage the recovery is gonna be even more difficult. He is the only son to his parents. He had no previous history of such a disease.
Biju just called me up and told me about the sad demise of Jassi Uncle. He was a family friend. He died of heart attack. His brother had filed for his immigration almost 20 yrs ago and finally Jassi uncle got immigration to US. He died at the San Francisco airport, right after getting the immigration cleared.Jassi uncle's brother Kuldeep was at the airport to receive his brother(I met him during my SFO visit. He was very much looking forward to his brother finally moving to US and he had everything planned). In no time everything in their life fell apart. Jassi uncle was perfectly healthy person and was a very good bhangra player(just like his brother,Kuldeep) and that meant my added interest in him.
Harjit during her India visit had told about the death of a very health conscious Uncle of her,who died all of a sudden. I mean the disease/death of such people is completely unexplainable for all the nears and dears. When such an incident happens everything simply falls apart. Our daily struggles, our targets, our ambitions seem so useless.
We must always keep in mind that the life we are living can take an ugly turn any minute,so we should always be positive and be happy in whatever circumstances we are.

P.S.-The depressing blog entries are just momentary thoughts. I get out of them in no time.

there s another incidence...
i know a little girl of just 9 yrs, who was suffering from insomnia(when person cant sleep), she was got checked for it but doctors thought it must psychological(missing her dad,as her parents had divorce& she s living alone with mother)she was put on treatment accordingly..
but when it didnt help they opted for scanning & found a lesion in the sleep area of her brain!
it was a great shock for her mother!!
treatment was then again started.. but her bad luck, medicines were allergic to her. instead of improvement, her condition deteriorated further...
but thankgod to american pharmaceuticals, who provide better drugs! her medicines are now coming from states(which r worth thousands!) and its been three yrs now(means she was just 6 yr old at that time!!!)still she is to continue it for two yrs or so...
now she can sleep for few hours atleast, though still not a sound sleep, she wakes up at a slight wisper.
i just wonder whats gonna be the fate of this poor girl! she has a long way to go.....
life is really unpredictable, no one knows what life s going to unfold for us...
